Two people are dead following a collision on Highway 23.

At around 8 p.m. on January 10, 2024, the Fort Macleod and Picture Butte RCMP responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 23 at Township Road 104. Police said the preliminary investigation found that one vehicle crossed the centre line and hit the other.

The RCMP said the driver of one of the vehicles, a 52-year-old man from Nipawin, Saskatchewan and a 63-year-old man from Taber, who was a passenger, were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police noted there were three other passengers who were transported to hospital “with what is believed to be non life-threatening injuries”. The RCMP did not provide information on the condition of the individual/individuals in the other vehicle involved in the collision.
