Salvation Army kettle campaign looking for help

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Salvation Army Kettle Campaign in Medicine Hat could use more volunteers and donations.

Thirteen kettle locations are set up throughout the city, with tap conveniently available at ten of those locations for those without cash to donate.

The funds raised stay in Medicine Hat to help the unfortunate through the Salvation Army programs.

Including, making food available at times and providing appropriate clothing during the winter months.

The Salvation Army can also help with emergency things like utility bills.

Shirley Greenfield, the kettle campaign coordinator, said there is an increased need this year and it has been busier.

“There is certainly still a need, both in donations and volunteers and we find that the more kettles that we have with people standing at them, greeting people, ringing bells, wishing a Merry Christmas the more donations we get,” Greenfield said.

For those looking to donate some time, the Salvation Army is looking to fill volunteer spots during the last week before Christmas.

Those interested can contact Greenfield at 587-253-0740.
