Alberta announces more funding for film and TV production
LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta is continuing its push as a hot spot for film and television production.
The province on Thursday announced the Alberta Made Screen Industries Program will support 155 locally made film and television projects with $2.8 million in mentorship and post-production grants.
Since January 2020, the Alberta Made Production Grant has supported 106 productions, with a combined total of $6.8 million. Those projects resulted in $26.7 million in spending across the province.
In Budget 2023, the province doubled the program to help meet the growing demand for Alberta-made productions.
