Alberta projected to spend $41B on healthcare in 2023
LETHBRIDGE, AB – A new report highlights how much money governments across the country are projected to spend on healthcare this year.
The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) said, across the country, provinces and territories are forecast to spend over $343 billion on healthcare in 2023, or an average of $8,740 per person.
This marks an increase in national health spending of approximately $737 million, or 27.3 per cent, compared to 2019.
In Alberta, the CIHI estimates that more than $41.8 billion will be spent in the health sector, or $9,014 per capita.
