Police say suspicious package was spent fireworks

MEDICINE HAT, AB–Medicine Hat Police have completed the investigation into a suspicious package found behind a business.

The Explosive Device Unit was called out June 23rd to the 600 block of Clay Avenue.

Staff and students at nearby Elm Street had to shelter in place for over two hours while police worked to dispose of the package.

Police have determined the package was spent fireworks, inadvertently left as garbage.
