PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE – The Brooks Bandits have won their third straight national title at the 2023 Centennial Cup against the Battleford North Stars.

Starting at 2:00pm MST, the Bandits and North Stars found themselves with zero goals in the first period.

Going into the second period, the Bandits scored three goals within a minute and 37 second time-span.

Hunter Wallace kicked off the scoring-spree, followed by Heath Armstrong and Hudson Malinoski.

Malinoski scored another goal later in the period during a power play.

The North Stars were shut-out again in the third period, meaning the Bandits were only scored on 4 times throughout the entire tournament. This set a new record in the league.

This was achieved with help from star-goalie Ethan Barwick, who made 30 saves during the game.

The Bandits also broke the record of winning the most consecutive National Junior A Championships.

Assistant Captain of the Bandits Heath Armstrong was named player of the game, along with Captain of the North Stars Jake Southgate.

The dominant win today marked the Brooks Bandits fourth National title. They are now tied with the Prince Albert Raiders for most national titles.
