Brooks Bandits remain undefeated heading into Centennial Cup Final

PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, MB – The Brooks Bandits prepare to face off against the Battlefords North Stars in the highly anticipated 2023 Centennial Cup National Championship Game.

The fight for the Centennial Cup takes place today at 2:00pm MST. The game will be broadcast live on TSN, as well as commentated by Nathan Crosby and Ken Fleury on Real Country 105.7 FM and realcountrybrooks.ca.

In the semifinals, the Brooks Bandits shut-out Ottawa 3-0, creating a five game win streak going into the finals.

The Battlefords North Stars had a 7-1 victory over the host team, Portage Terriers in the semi. Their only loss in the tournament was against the Collingwood Blues.

Throughout the 2023 Centennial Cup, the Bandits outscored their opponents 30-4.

Notably, the Bandits and North Stars have a history of competition, having last met at the 2017 Western Canada Cup in Penticton, BC. In that encounter, the Brooks Bandits emerged victorious with a score of 4-1, ultimately securing the tournament championship.

This is the Bandits fifth qualification for the National Championship final, having also qualified in 2013, 2017, 2019 and 2022.
