Mar 30, 2023 | 3:08 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A virtual workshop will take place next week for anyone interested in applying for the 2023 Community Impact Award.

The workshop will be hosted by the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta (CFSEA), which awards the $25,000 grant designed for agencies with innovative project ideas that show creativity and leadership in supporting a vibrant, healthy, and caring community.

The workshop takes place on April 4 at 10 a.m. The deadline to RSVP for the workshop is April 3 at 12 p.m. You can RSVP at grants@cfsea.ca or 403-527-9038.

Based on information gathered and in the CFSEA’s 2022 Vital Conversations report, projects that address work and the economy, mental health and vulnerable populations (food security, housing stability and domestic violence) are invited to apply.

Josh Hudson, CFSEA community leadership committee chair, says the intent of the award is to continue funding innovative ideas to support the identified needs of the community.

Successful projects may be applicable to receive funding over a maximum of two years. A final report will be due within 18 months of receiving the grant and the recipient will have an opportunity to present on the impact of their project at the following year’s Vital event, says CFSEA.

The deadline to submit an application is April 17 at 12 p.m.
