The Canadian Press receives six National Newspaper Awards nominations
TORONTO — The National Newspaper Awards have named the finalists for its annual journalism honours and given six nominations to The Canadian Press.
The national newswire agency received the nods in breaking news, sports and various photography categories.
The team’s coverage of the “Freedom Convoy” protests over the 36-hour period after the first trucks arrived in Ottawa is up for the Stuart M. Robertson Award for Breaking News.
Reporter Lori Ewing was nominated for her “persistent coverage” of athlete protests against Canada’s safe sport crisis.
