MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers can put distance between themselves and one of the teams they’re fighting with in the Eastern Conference playoff race tonight.
In seventh place in the conference, the Tigers (26-25-8-1) are in Brandon to end a two-game Manitoba road trip. The Wheat Kings (24-28-8-0) are five points back of the Tigers and currently in 10th place.
The orange and black have won all three meetings between the team this season, outscoring Brandon 15-5 in the process. Hunter St. Martin has five points in the three victories.
The Tigers fell 3-1 on Tuesday to the Winnipeg Ice, the Western Hockey League’s top team. Shane Smith scored the lone goal for the Tigers and Evan May stopped 25 of 27 shots.
