Saskatchewan RCMP warn of poor road conditions in parts of the province

Jan 26, 2023 | 3:02 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – RCMP in Saskatchewan are warning travellers about poor road conditions in parts of the province.

RCMP say Saskatchewan has been dealing with a variety of winter weather including snow, freezing rain, rain, and high winds.

Between midnight and noon, Saskatchewan’s RCMP Communications Centre received 43 reports of weather-related traffic issues from across the province.

These include multiple motor vehicle collisions, as well as vehicles and semis stuck in the ditch.

Conditions could worsen this evening as RCMP warn Mother Nature has one further trick up her sleeve as the temperature is expected to plummet meaning roads will continue to icy.

RCMP ask all motorists to consider delaying travel today if possible. If not, travellers are urged to check the Highway Hotline for road conditions/closures before heading out.

We sent out some winter driving safety messaging earlier – it’s below. We ask all motorists to consider delaying travel today if they are able. If they cannot, check the Highway Hotline for road conditions/closure before heading out.
