Premier Smith to address Albertans
Premier Danielle Smith will deliver a televised address to Albertans this week.
Government officials say the premier’s address will air on Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 6:30 p.m. and will be posted online at alberta.ca. It will also be available on chatnewstoday.ca.
On Twitter, Mount Royal University political scientist Duane Bratt says the expectation is Smith’s address will cover a package of affordability policies: gas tax cut, utilities rebate, and likely direct cheques to Albertans. Online speculation lists health care and federal overreach as other potential topics.
A post on the government’s website attributed to Smith reads, “Join me Tuesday as I update Albertans on our government’s vision and plans for the province.”
