NHL Notebook: New coaching hires making waves across league
Jim Montgomery mapped out a straight-forward approach before entering the fray as a new voice in a veteran locker room.
“Learn from them,” the first-year Boston Bruins head coach said. “They have an incredible culture. It’s well-known throughout the league.
“One of the first things I said was, ‘I want to work together and learn from you guys.'”
The messaging — in both directions — has been well-received for a team that tops the NHL standings at 14-2-0 and sits a perfect 9-0-0 at home.
