Pregame: Raiders at Tigers

Nov 8, 2022 | 2:11 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers play their second of three straight games at home, Tuesday night against the Prince Albert Raiders.

The Tabbies dropped their last game to the Lethbridge Hurricanes 3-2 Saturday night. That loss was the 5th in a row for the hat, leaving them 4-8-3 on the season.

Prince Albert comes in to Co-Op Place on a two game losing streak, and holding a 4-11-2 record. Their last game was at home, where they suffered a 4-2 loss at the hands of the Everett Silvertips.

Player to watch out for on the Raiders is defenseman Landon Kosior, who leads his team in points with 16, tied for the lead in goals at 7 and tied for the lead in assists at 9.

Kosior sits 6th in the league in points by a defenseman. He is also tied for second in shorthanded goals scored.

Another Raider that will draw eyes is forward Keaton Sorensen who is tied for the team lead in goals with Kosior.

The Tigers powerplay continues to be a steady positive so far this season. It has cooled off in recent games, but still sits at a solid 23.0 per cent conversion rate.

When it comes to the penalty kill, both the Tigers and the Raiders sit pretty tight together in the league standings. Medicine Hat is sitting at 79.0 per cent, which is only 0.04 per cent better than Prince Albert this season.

If the Tabbies are able to grab a win Tuesday, they would move within one point of 9th place in the eastern conference. They could also make a move from 18th in the league, to 17th.

Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. from Co-Op Place. If you are not able to attend, you can hear all the action on Wild 94.5 with voice of the Tigers, Gino De Paoli.
