MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat High Hawks football team added a Zone Championship to their resume defeating the Chinook Coyotes 13-2 Friday night in Lethbridge.

It was a tight matchup with only one touchdown being scored by post season all-star Clark Campbell in the First Half.

On top of the touchdown the Hawks converted on two field goals both kicked by Ira Hozack. The two points for the Coyotes were scored on a safety.

This game came after the Rangeland Conference Championship win for the Hawks on Oct. 28 over the Crescent Heights Vikings. In their last three games the Hawks have outscored opponents 92-2, showing pure dominance out on the field.

Following Friday’s game Quinn Skelton, Hawks Head Coach says “It was a hard fought physical contest, the Coyotes were big and hard hitting. Our boys stepped up, and played a great game.”

He as well gave his admiration for his team saying “I’m very proud of our players, coaches and the leadership from our seniors.”

The Hawks will now move on to the Provincial semi-final game Nov. 12 in Calgary where they will take on Holy Trinity Academy Knights. The Knights are the number one ranked High School team in the province, with Hat High sitting at 8th.
