MEDICINE HAT, AB – More than two weeks after the disappearance of a 62-year-old local man, Medicine Hat police are hoping the public can help in the search.

Police say that Bradley Kiefer has not been seen or been in contact with family since Oct. 16.

Staff Sgt. Jason Graham, in charge of the Medicine Hat Police Service criminal investigation unit, says investigators have been working from the beginning to locate Kiefer.

It is believed that Kiefer left his residence, most likely on foot, on the 200 block of Fifth Street SE on Oct. 16.

Kiefer is described as five-foot-eleven and 200 pounds with an athletic build. It’s not clear what he may have been wearing.

Graham says investigators have received assistance from the South Eastern Alberta Search & Rescue and HALO Air Ambulance in attempts to locate Kiefer. Those searches have been done primarily in the near city near the South Saskatchewan River and in the wooded area along the river and pathways.

“We do not believe that there is anything suspicious or nefarious surrounding Mr. Kiefer’s disappearance at this time. We do believe that Mr. Kiefer may have had some personal circumstances that is leading to his unknown whereabouts at this time. He has friends and family that are obviously concerned for his well-being.” stated Graham.

Anyone with information about Kiefer is asked to call police at 403-529-8481.
