Mustard Seed to purchase Salvation Army shelter
MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Mustard Seed in Medicine Hat is purchasing the Salvation Army Centre of Hope shelter.
It assumed operations of the shelter back on April 1, with the goal of fostering and furthering the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of the community. The purchase is effective Oct. 1.
In a news release, managing director of the Mustard Seed Colette Eirich says “as cold and unsafe weather approaches, we are committed to providing a safe, warm place for our most vulnerable citizens.”
Eirich says the facility will continue to provide shelter, support, and services for up to 30 individuals in need. Programs and services will not be disrupted during the ownership transition.
