BROOKS, AB – It was just May 29 when the Brooks Bandits were last in action for the 2021-22 campaign. That day they again cemented their place in Centennial Cup history with another junior A national championship.

The season as a whole was one to be remembered as the Bandits led the AJHL (Alberta Junior Hockey League) standings for most of the season, bolstering a 52-6-2 record crowning them the regular season champions.

Throughout the league playoffs Brooks was just as dominant. The team swept three out of four of the series they played in and suffered only one loss throughout the entire playoffs on their way to their sixth AJHL championship in 10 years.

It was then off to the Centennial Cup in Estevan, Sask. for the Bandits where they would compete on the national stage against the other top junior A teams around the country.

During the tournament they managed a 4-0-0 record, winning the championship game over the Pickering Panthers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Although a season for the books it is now time for Brooks to set their sights on a new season.

With a fresh start only hours away, the Bandits look to make it a repeat performance this season.
