MEDICINE HAT, AB – The one-day Together Again festival is ready to go Saturday downtown.

The event, meant to showcase the inclusivity and diversity of Medicine Hat, includes a free dinner being held on Finlay Bridge.

Although spaces at the dinner are currently all spoken for, the City of Medicine Hat’s entertainment and events coordinator Josie Doll says, “we have asked anyone who has gotten tickets, and can’t use it to please turn it into {tixx.ca},” so that tickets may be available closer to the day.

Other than the dinner there will be many other things going on throughout the day such as live performances from The Northern Pikes, 54-40 and High Valley. Although the live performances are a draw of the event Doll says “there are so many parts to this event, as I’ve said there’s something for everybody.”

One of the main areas Doll is excited by the portrait unveiling that will be taking place at Riverside Veterans’ Memorial Park bandshell in the evening. This portrait will showcase the diversity within Medicine Hat. Doll had says “it’s something that will live on in our community long past Sept. 17.”

Medicine Hat has felt the impact of the two years people were separated, and Together Again will highlight that by recognizing 30 new people who joined the community during that time.

“We had a couple of years there where we really couldn’t celebrate and welcome them, so we have a ceremony to do that,” Doll explains.
