City repairing bridge on Strathcona Island Park Loop trail

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Work is set to begin this week on the bridge along the Strathcona Island Park Loop trail, requiring a section of the trail to be closed to park visitors due to the ongoing construction activity in the area.
This bridge and trail connect the parking lot of the boat launch to the western areas of the park. The bridge is being strengthened to facilitate maintenance activity on the trail, says the City of Medicine Hat in a release.
The city says access to the boat launch will be maintained, but a section of the parking lot may be closed to allow crews adequate room to work. Park visitors are asked to follow all construction signs in the area.
The trail and bridge are expected to reopen on Sept. 30.
