Technical rescue team training at Saamis Tepee on Monday

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Medicine Hat Fire & Emergency Services technical rescue team will be at the Saamis Tepee on Monday for training exercises.

Training is expected to begin at 9 a.m. Scenarios will involve members of the advance response team climbing various parts of the tepee and lowering members to the ground.

The area around the teepee will be open to the public during the training. Signs will be in place asking people to stay away from the immediate area where crews are training.

The technical rescue team is one of three advance response teams within Fire & Emergency Services. It trains regularly and responds to incidents involving elevation rescues, both low and high angle, as well as confined space rescue.
