Kenney accuses AHS of misinforming government at critical moments during the pandemic
Premier Jason Kenney says his government did not receive clear and timely information from Alberta Health Services during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kenney says AHS provided the government with continually changing numbers about the number of intensive care beds it could operate during the pandemic and drastically reduced capacity at the last minute during a critical moment.
He says his government has since made it clear to AHS that it expects a permanent expansion of critical care capacity, and has funded 50 more ICU beds.
But NDP Leader Rachel Notley accuses Kenney of continuing a long practice of failing to take responsibility for what she says were “really bad decisions” that hurt Albertans.
