Labour Day weekend closures in Medicine Hat, Redcliff

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Long weekends mean closures and shortened hours for many public services. CHAT News has compiled a short list of some of those for this Labour Day weekend.

The Big Marble Go Centre will be open regular hours Saturday and Sunday and will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Monday. The Kinsmen Aquatic Centre is scheduled to be open on Monday following a two-week shutdown for annual maintenance.

The Crestwood Recreation Centre and the YMCA of Medicine Hat have been honouring active Big Marble Go Centre memberships for the duration of the closure.

Splash parks remain open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. until further notice but outdoor pools in Medicine Hat and Redcliff have closed for the season.

The boating and swim lakes at Echo Dale Regional Park were closed for the season on Aug. 28. Echo Dale Campground, Echo Dale Farm, the trails and off-leash areas are open through this weekend.

Medicine Hat Transit will run its regular schedule and operations on Saturday and Sunday. There will be no transit service, including MHTNow and Special Transit on Monday.

The Medicine Hat Public Library has the same basic schedule, open regular hours Saturday and Sunday but closed on Monday. The Redcliff Public Library will be closed Monday in addition to its regular Sunday closure.

The Esplanade will be open Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.

Alberta Day will be celebrated at the Monarch Theatre from noon until 9 p.m. on Saturday.

And for you shoppers, the Medicine Hat Mall has regular hours on Saturday and Sunday and is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday.
