Limited access to Echo Dale for Rise Up festival

May 25, 2022 | 2:00 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – There may be limited access to Echo Dale Regional Park for the rest of the week during the inaugural Rise Up Hot Air Balloon festival.

The festival takes place May 26-29.

The festival and balloon launches will take place in the east end of the park. Motorists can expect restricted vehicle access to this area throughout the event, though walk-in access is permitted.

With limited event parking available, park visitors are encouraged to use the Heritage Trail Network to access the park, including the multi-use trail which connects Gas City Campground and Echo Dale.

The City of Medicine Hat says public parking, as well as accessible parking stalls, are available at the swim centre and overflow areas. Volunteer parking attendants will be on-site to assist visitors.

The Echo Dale lookout point will be unavailable from May 25-30.

The city adds people can expect to use the boating lake, which will be stocked with rainbow trout on Friday. The swim lake opens for the season at 11 a.m. on Saturday, and Echo Dale Farm will reopen the same day.
