Camera captures mother duck nesting, ducklings being born outside South Ridge home

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Here’s a story that will have you quacking a smile.

Norm and Myrna Morrison had a welcome visitor for a couple of weeks in May and over the long weekend helped her – and her newborns – find a more suitable habitat.

Jodi McKim says earlier this month a mother duck nested under a bay window at her parents’ home. When her parents first noticed their guest they set up a camera to watch the mama duck, gave her water and Googled what to provide for nesting snacks.

Days later the eggs hatched and five ducklings were born.
