MEDICINE HAT, AB – Families in our community will have another school option this fall.

Mary and Jeff Printz are starting new private school, Accelerated Potential Christian Academy. The non-denominational school will operate out of Glenview Nazarene Church across from Walmart.

Mary is Miss Mary from Accelerated Potential Academy tutoring service. She says parents have told her kids need help and there is a lack of options available.

“They’re struggling, they have an achievement gap some are requiring enrichment,” she says. “They are requiring extra help and we have expertise in reading, writing and math.”

Mary says the school has very specific strategies that are successful.

“We are going to offer a very customized individual program for every single child whether there is an achievement gap or whether they require enrichment or they’re right down the middle,” she says. “So we will provide a customized program for every single child Not only will they receive small group instruction they will also receive one-on-one instruction.”

They are already accepting registrations for the 2022-23 school year. Mary says the non-denominational school will likely have about 40 students the first year and plans a student-to-teacher ratio of 10 to 1.

The school will run a four-day week with Friday being an optional day for extracurriculars or family time.

Mary adds Accelerated Potential Christian Academy will have high academic standards and will incorporate social and emotional learning.

An open house will be held Thursday at the church from 6-7 p.m. where Mary says they will go over the costs involved and tuition rates.
