RCMP advises motorists to drive cautiously Saturday for Alberta Transportation’s 46th Annual Highway Cleanup

Volunteers across the province will be participating in Alberta Transportation’s 46th Annual Highway Cleanup Campaign on Saturday.

From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 7, volunteers from various groups and clubs will be walking alongside highways and roadways picking up trash and litter that has accumulated over the winter months to raise funds for their organization or chosen charity.

The Alberta RCMP is asking motorists to drive with caution on Saturday in marked clean-up areas and to be aware of the added foot traffic on main roadways across Alberta.

Police will be patrolling across provincial highways to enforce traffic safety and prevent speeding in the clean-up areas.
