RCMP announce winning names for 2022 Name the Puppy contest

The RCMP have announced the winning names of this year’s Name the Puppy contest.

Winning names will be given to the first 13 puppies born at the Police Dog Services Training Centre in 2022.

The centre is located in Innisfail, Alberta, just south of Red Deer.

This year, all entries had to begin with the letter R.

The winning entries are:

“Thank you to all the children across Canada that participated in the Name the Puppy contest,” says Alana McLeod, officer in charge, RCMP Police Dog Services. “I continue to be amazed by the level of participation. Our puppies will wear their names with pride.”

Each of the 13 winners will receive a laminated 8×10-inch photo of the pup they named, a plush dog named Justice and an RCMP water bottle.

Names not selected for the contest will be considered for other puppies born during the year, RCMP say.
