MEDICINE HAT, AB – The collegiate cross-country runners in Canada will lace up their shoes in Medicine Hat this fall.

Medicine Hat College Rattlers will host the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Cross-Country Running National Championships from Nov. 11-12.

MHC sport and wellness manager Terry Ballard will be the championship chairperson and will be assisted by former long-time CCAA Cross-Country Running convenor Bill Corcoran on the host organizing committee.

“We know that Terry and his team at MHC will put on an excellent CCAA Championship event,” said Darcy Brioux, CCAA Cross-Country Running Convenor. “We are all excited to be returning to Alberta once again for some wonderful western hospitality.”

Final routes are yet to be determined but the men’s race will be 8 km and the women’s will be 6 km.

A Community Race/Fun Run is also in the works for the Saturday morning.

The Medicine Hat College Rattlers have previously hosted the 2018 CCAA Golf National Championships and the 2014 CCAA Women’s Soccer National Championship. In 2020, they hosted the ACAC Women’s Volleyball and Women’s Basketball Conference Championships.
