Sage Watson chosen as YMCA’s 2022 Strong Kids Campaign Ambassador

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Athlete, two-time Olympian and now YMCA ambassador. Sage Watson’s list of titles keeps growing.

The Seven Persons track star has been named the YMCA of Medicine Hat’s 2022 Strong Kids Campaign Ambassador.

“We are thrilled to have Sage Watson represent the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign,” says CEO Sharon Hayward. “Sage is a remarkable role model, elite athlete, mentor, and philanthropist with a longstanding connection to our YMCA. She embodies YMCA values on and off the track and we are grateful for her support.”

The Strong Kids campaign raises money throughout the year ensure any individual, regardless of financial circumstances, can access YMCA programs like day camps, youth classes and fitness memberships. So far this year the campaign has raised $22,500, with a goal to raise $75,000 by Aug 31.

The annual River Run on June 18 is one of many fundraising initiatives planned to support the Strong Kids campaign this year. All proceeds raised during the campaign will be leveraged through the 2022 Shaw Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink program where the funds will be matched by up to 50 per cent.
