MEDICINE HAT, AB – The 2022 Pickleball Alberta Provincial Championships are coming to Medicine Hat this summer.

The event will be hosted at the new 20-court pickleball facility at the Big Marble Go Centre from July 8-10. It’s the first-ever closed provincial tournament and will see champions crowned in a number of age, skill and event categories.

It will be the first major event hosted at the new facility, but director Brenda Lee MacPhail says it won’t be the last.

“This world class facility will draw players from all across the country and even into the U.S., so bidding on a dn hosting larger tournaments will be a major focus for our club,” she says in a release.

President Ken MacPhail says hosting provincials is a huge win for the club and the community as a whole. It’s expected to attract about 350 players from out of town.

The club will need a significant number of volunteers for the event, and you don’t have to be a club member or player to volunteer.
