Alberta surpasses one million COVID booster doses
The Alberta government says more than one million residents have received a booster shot to help protect them from the COVID-19 virus.
The province adds that there are still two million eligible people who have not received a third vaccine dose.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, is urging all those who are eligible to get a booster for themselves, but also to keep hospitals from being overwhelmed as the Omicron variant propels a steep increase in cases.
Everyone 18 years and older can get a booster at least five months after receiving a second dose.
