Were to face Warriors, Oil Kings

COVID concerns on opponents forces postponement of two Tigers games

Jan 4, 2022 | 10:33 AM

Two Medicine Hat Tigers games scheduled for this weekend have been postponed due to COVID issues on the opposing teams.

The Tigers were to host the Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday and the Edmonton Oil Kings on Sunday.

The Western Hockey League announced today the pausing of team activities for the Oil Kings and Warriors, as well as the Red Deer Rebels.

In a statement, the league says the decision comes “as a result of multiple players and staff being added to the WHL COVID-19 Protocol List due to exhibiting symptoms or having tested positive for COVID-19.”

The games will be rescheduled and the Tigers advise anyone with tickets for the games to hold onto them. The team says more information will be provided when available.

Three other games involving the teams on the list have also been postponed. No other WHL clubs are impacted.
