Water World Tubs wasn’t licensed for installations, city safety code manager says
MEDICINE HAT, AB – The City of Medicine Hat has issued a second notice to the public as inspectors are about to close a year-long safety investigation into work done by a local hot tub company.
Elgin Mann Jr., the city’s manager of safety code services, says Water World Tubs was licensed for sales and service of hot tubs.
“But then we found out they were removing hot tubs and installing hot tubs and they should have hired a licensed electrical contractor who is a master electrician who can pull the permit,” he explained. “You have to be a master electrician to pull electrical permits in the province. And they weren’t even journeymen electricians doing the work. So we deemed it unsafe and that’s why we reached out to the public to get any feedback.”
