A letter will be sent to stakeholders today, and a request for proposals will be issued next week for potential operators to apply.

Operations manager Trish Richard said the CCDA hopes to find a new operator before they dissolve June 30. If a new operator is not found Richard said the CCDA is still trying to figure that out, adding they are in the midst of a very complicated process.

“We are actually the only registered BIA in Alberta that has been disbanded. So Municipal Affairs doesn’t know what is going on, the city doesn’t know what is going on, the lawyers don’t know what is going on so it is a first for everybody. So we are just trying to do the best we can to work through that. I’m thinking I will have some of those answers by the end of this week,” Richard said.

The theatre is open Friday and Saturday night, with the theatre playing Godzilla vs. Kong.

But, once the organization dissolves, Richard said, the theatre will close until a new operator steps up.
