Jun 14, 2021 | 10:00 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Alberta Health Services has identified two more cases of COVID-19 connected to George Davison School over the weekend.

They have three active and will remain On Alert.

As a result, AHS  has directed some students and staff to quarantine for a specified time period and the school will remain open.

Meantime, the YMCA was notified by AHS on June 12 that a student attending the afternoon George Davison Before & After School Care program between June 8- 10 tested positive for COVID-19.

As a result, families of 16 students have been contacted and notified that their children are considered close contacts and must self-isolate until June 25.

As a result of this case, the YMCA’s George Davison Before & After School Care program will be fully closed on Monday, June 14 to allow time to sanitize all program equipment and space.

AHS has confirmed that the morning program is not impacted and can safely resume on June 15.

According to the YMCA, with 95 per cent of the program’s afternoon attendees self-isolating until June 25, the afternoon program will remain closed for the remainder of the school year.
