Blood donor clinics in Medicine Hat June 14-15

Jun 11, 2021 | 3:30 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Blood donor clinics are back at the Medicine Hat Lodge next week.

Canadian Blood Services will be there on Monday and Tuesday, June 14-15.

Territory manager Lisa Castro says Medicine Hat donor clinics are always strongly supported. That’s no different this time, with all the appointments booked.

She says that with everything starting to open up again they’ll need all the donations they can get.

“What we’re really asking is those people that have actually booked those appointments we really need you to come out and support us,” Castro says. “And if you’re not able to honour those appointments then make sure that you’re cancelling them so others that can come are able to access those appointments.”

She says summer months can be challenging for donations. People get busy and donating blood can sometimes fall to the side as other things take priority.

“Especially going into July, August and Septmeber and you know again we just can’t emphasize how important it is, even more so now, to honour and keep those appointments to ensure that our patients needs are met,” she says.

Next week is National Blood Donor Week.

Next month’s clinics are set for July 5-6.
