Police Point Park hosting yoga class, card painting session

Jun 7, 2021 | 11:25 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Police Point Park is hosting two activities this week aimed at improving health and wellness.

On Thursday, June 10, a beginner’s yoga class will take place in the park. It will include an introduction to yoga practices and breathing techniques.

Participants must bring a yoga mat, or one can be purchased for a nominal fee. A yoga block, blanket and water bottle are also advised.

The class will start at 6:30 p.m., weather dependent. There is a limited number of participants allowed, so people are encouraged to book their spots in advance by calling 403-529-6225.

If this class fills up, a waiting list will be established for a future class. An intermediate class will also be scheduled.

On Sunday, June 13, the park’s Wellness in Nature series will continue with Paint in the Park at 1 p.m.

People are encouraged to paint a greeting card while relaxing in nature and being inspired by the park.

Watercolour painting supplies, cards and envelopes will be provided. It’s recommended participants be at least 13 years old and they are asked to bring their own lawn chair.

There are only nine spots available and people are asked to register in advance by calling 403-529-6225.

For more information on these or other upcoming events call the Nature Centre at 403-529-6225, visit natureline.info or find Police Point Park on social media.
