CFSEA awards spring Smart and Caring grants
MEDICINE HAT, AB – Thirteen charities in the region were awarded grants from the Community Foundation of South Eastern Alberta this week, totalling more than $63,000.
The funding priorities focused on mental health, work and the economy and vulnerable populations for this grant cycle.
The Community Food Connections Association is one of the grant recipients. It received $5,000 for a vegetable growing project.
Alison Van Dyke, food security coordinator, says they’ll use the grant to get more people growing their own food by giving them a small gardening kit.
