City launches test to restructure and redesign its website
MEDICINE HAT, AB – The City of Medicine Hat wants input from residents as it restructures and redesigns its website.
Hatters are asked to take part in an online testing and evaluation initiative.
“We’re launching this test with the community to get input that will help us design a new website where information is arranged in a way that makes sense to users,” said Colleen Graham, director of corporate communications. “Redesigning the architecture of our website will help overcome navigation challenges, improve the customer journey, and make content more readily available in the places people are most likely to search.”
The city says tree testing uses an online analytics engine to guide a user through a simulated version of a proposed sitemap, tracking clicks along the way, and provides data that helps understand where people expect to find key information on a website and where they are getting lost.
