COVID-19 update: Province confirms 1,140 new cases Sunday

EDMONTON, AB- There are 1,140 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed across the province today. Alberta health over a 24 hour period, 11,858 tests were completed. The provincial positivity rate stands at 9.6 per cent.

There are 647 people in hospital, including 186 in ICU. The province also confirmed three new deaths.

In Medicine Hat, there are 185 active cases of COVID-19. A total of 929 people have recovered, and the city has 18 recorded deaths.

Cypress County has 32 active cases, 231 recoveries, and no recorded deaths.

Newell County has 25 active cases, 178 recoveries, and two recorded deaths.

Brooks has 43 active cases 1,399 recoveries, and 15 recorded deaths.

The MD of Taber has 50 active cases, 497 recoveries, and six recorded deaths.

Lethbridge County has 169 active cases, 1015 recoveries, and 11 deaths.

The City of Lethbridge has 350 active cases, 4271 recoveries, and 37 recorded deaths.

The province said, to date 2,189,999 doses of the vaccine have been administered.

Taking to Twitter Dr. Deena Hinshaw, encouraged everyone to book their vaccines if they have not done so already.
