MEDICINE HAT, AB– The Medicine Hat Public School Division is confirming three additional cases of COVID-19 at two schools.

In a late-night release, the MHPSD confirmed two positive cases connected to Elm Street School and one case at Crescent Heights High school.

Elm Street School remains on Alert status.

In total, there are six cases of COVID-19 connected to Crescent Heights Highschool

All close contacts of the cases have been identified and directed to quarantine.

“We ask families and students to show compassion and kindness for those that have been impacted by a positive COVID-19 case. As always, we will work collectively to foster a safe, caring and welcoming school environment,” the MHPSD said in a release.

While most students will be learning from home, the Medicine Hat Public School Division says they will continue to notify the school community of positive COVID-19 cases

Schools remain open by appointment, according to the school division. Staff and visitors are reminded to monitor for any signs of COVID-19 and fill out the daily Alberta Health self-assessment checklist. If symptoms present themselves, visitors and staff are asked to dial 8-1-1 and stay home.
