One lane blocked east of town

RCMP: Semi on fire on Trans-Canada near Maple Creek

MAPLE CREEK, SK – Maple Creek RCMP are on scene of a semi truck fire on the Trans-Canada Highway near the town.

According to RCMP the semi caught fire in the westbound right driving lane about 10 kilometres east of Maple Creek. Motorists are able to pass in the left lane but are asked to slow to 60 km/h and use caution while passing for the safety of emergency responders on the scene.

The Maple Creek Fire Department is on scene. There are no reported injuries.

RCMP say the right driving lane will be blocked for a significant period of today until the semi can be removed.
