Methanex confirms positive COVID 19 tests for two workers
MEDICINE HAT — Two workers at the Methanex plant in Medicine Hat have tested positive for COVID 19. The company says both workers and their close contacts are isolating, as per provincial health requirements. Methanex says it has implemented it’s Rapid Response Plan, which includes notifying employees and working with Alberta Health services. The plant is also operating with extensive COVID 19 safeguards, protocols and controls. Here is the complete statement from Methanex this morning.
“We can confirm that two workers at our Medicine Hat plant site have tested positive for COVID-19. Both workers and their close contacts are isolating as per the provincial health requirements.
Our top priority is the health, safety and well-being of our employees, contractors and the community. We have implemented our Rapid Response Plan, which includes notifying our employees, working with Alberta Health Services, collecting the necessary contact tracing information to assist the health authority and mobilizing our response to reduce the risk to workers and the community.
Our primary objective is to contain and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Methanex is operating with extensive COVID-19 safeguards, controls and protocols in place at the plant site that meet and exceed government and health authority guidance. These include:
