Police investigating business break and enter

MEDICINE HAT, AB- A 36-year-old Medicine Hat man has been arrested and charged following a break and enter into a business in the 2200 block of Box Springs Blvd.

Police say they received a report of a break and enter in the early morning hours of Friday Sept. 11.

When police attended the scene they noted thousands of dollars in industrial merchandise was stolen from the business.

Officers were able to recover some of the merchandise in a field shortly after the reported incident.

The next day on Sept 12. police say a patrol officer conducted a traffic stop along the 600 block of 3rd street SE for a traffic violation. The traffic stop led to the arrest of the 36-year-old man.

The man now faces charges of possession of a prohibited weapon, break and enter and theft as well as numerous provincial traffic offenses.

The suspect’s next court appearance is Nov. 10, 2020.

The break and enter remains under investigation, according to the Medicine Hat Police Service.
