Brooks driver recovering from non-life-threatening injuries after single-vehicle accident

BROOKS, AB- An 86-year-old man from Brooks was transported to hospital yesterday with undetermined but non-life-threatening injuries following a car crash at Evergreen Park.

According to police, the driver’s 2002 Dodge Caravan was lodged against a tree, with the driver reportedly pinned inside.

Emergency crews were alerted to the crash at approximately 3:30 Saturday.

” The investigation to date has revealed that the male, who was driving a 2002 Dodge Caravan, was traveling west along 1st Avenue West at a high rate of speed. The vehicle reached a dead end at the parking lot in Evergreen Park and the male lost control of his vehicle striking garbage can then colliding with a large tree in the park,” The Brooks RCMP said in a news release.
