Hat mayor welcomes highway twinning, expects funding announcement for city soon
MEDICINE HAT – It’s been a long haul for advocates to see Highway 3 get twinned. But while Premier Jason Kenney’s announced that stretch of road will be twinned between Burdett and Taber, it was too much of a stretch to have the twinning completed up to Medicine Hat.
Medicine Hat Mayor Ted Clugston says the project is exciting and while it won’t be coming all the way to the city, “to pave 50 kilometres over the next three years, that is a big piece.”
“I don’t think we were left out in any way,” added Clugston. “Yes, of course, I think we’d all like to see it all the way between Medicine Hat and Lethbridge.”
