Sewer management

Sewer work to begin next week in Parkview

Jun 3, 2020 | 4:47 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The City of Medicine Hat’s long-term sewer management strategy will move into a new phase next week.

Work will begin on June 8 to install a new sanitary sewer trunkline in the Parkview area, just north of the South Saskatchewan River.

The project will divert sewage flow from Box Springs, Brier Park and Redcliff to the newly renovated lift station on the north bank of the river near Police Point Park. Work will also be done on the natural gas distribution by the gas distribution and environmental utilities departments.

More details and a map of the project are available at medicinehat.ca.

Parkview Close, where some people park to access the Police Point trail system, will be closed for most of the summer as a result of the work.

Detours and temporary road accommodations will be in place to maintain access to businesses near Altawana Drive and Parkview Drive. Motorists are asked to obey all signage.

The city reminds people to allow crews space to work safely, including adhering to physical distancing standards of two metres.
