MEDICINE HAT – A man was taken into custody on suspicion of impaired driving Monday evening following a crash that narrowly missed a child, according to witnesses.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on 11th Ave. N.E. near Dr. Ken Sauer Elementary when a white pickup truck struck a parked vehicle and then careened into power pole.

Witnesses say the truck was travelling at an extremely fast speed prior slamming into a parked vehicle and continuing on and breaking a power pole.
