City set to record warmest weekend of the year, AHS reminding residents of heat safety
MEDICINE HAT – Hatters know a thing or two about hot weather with southern Alberta having one of the highest thresholds for an Environment Canada heat warning in the country. But that doesn’t mean they are immune to the effects of the hot weather set to de
scend on the region this weekend.
Dr. Shobhit Maruti, AHS South Zone medical officer, is reminding residents of some basic steps to keep healthy in the sun – consider doing outdoor activities during the cooler part of the day, wear light-coloured long sleeve shirt, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen as well as hydrate.
